New testing equipment for reed control on airjet and rapier
weaving machines

QUALITY CONTROL MADE EASY

backforward
To produce optimum fabric quality, all the basic conditions have to be right. As well as selecting the correct machine model, which has to be coordinated as efficiently as possible to the requirements, great care must also be taken selecting the raw materials. It is equally important that all the machine components and supplementary fittings subject to wear are in perfect condition.

It is thus extremely helpful to be able to establish promptly and beyond doubt that a component needs replacing, as well as being able to keep an ongoing check during production and subject new or overhauled components to a reliable induction test.
A perfect reed is one of the components which determines quality, and it is advantageous to be able to check new reeds for dimensional accuracy and perfect impact pressure when they arrive. However, reeds which have been in storage can also be inspected prior to reuse and reeds for airjet weaving machines checked to determine their degree of soiling, thereby preventing unexpected malfunctions.

To help ensure you make the correct reed selection in future, DORNIER has developed three testing devices for performing a simple and reliable test:

dynamic pressure measuring device for airjet weaving machine reeds, documentation of results via log printer
electronic reed testing device for measuring a straight and parallel reed stay for rapier and airjet weaving machines, documentation via log printer
mechanical reed testing device for swift and easy measurement of the straightness of the reed and parallelism of the reed dent in relation to the baulk by way of a dial gauge for rapier and airjet weaving machines.
