| The mechanical loom of the
early Industrial Revolution has long since receded into the realms of nostalgia.
Electronics and application-related mechanical engineering are making the use of modern
weaving machines increasingly easy and determining their level of performance. Anyone
wishing to develop a weave room efficiently or utilize existing machines to optimum
capacity needs a competent partner to communicate with: the senior service technician. The enormous number of machines supplied by us over the years has been subject, like all technical products, to a process of continuous evolution. If we look into the weave rooms of our customers, we often find mixed constellations of airjet and rapier weaving machines belonging to different generations. Although we endeavour to produce as many components as possible of identical design, even crossing the boundaries between the different airjet and rapier weaving machine systems, slight differences and improvements in detail are to be found in every generation of machines. All aspects must be borne in mind when making any change to this heterogeneous environment. We have therefore selected a number of our best and most experienced technicians and prepared them accordingly for their new role as senior service technicians. We are thus placing competent partners by your side on site. It will be their responsibility to advise our customers on aspects of textile and machine technology. They will also provide assistance and support to fitters locally and have the competence and authority to take all necessary decisions on the spot. By arrangement with the Customer Service Department, DORNIER senior service technicians will visit all customers in their sphere of responsibility at regular intervals, thus providing our clients with a direct link to innovations generated by our development work and giving them a competent partner to offer advice on practical implementation and mastering individual weaving tasks.
