In 1993 this plant installed 20 double-width air jet machines, type LWV2/E, with a nominal width of 360 cm to produce heavy denim. This company was founded during the first half of this century, and today has become an international conglomerate, maintaining manufacturing facilities located in Venezuela, Uruguay and England with additional offices in Colombia and Argentina. The lead position held by this company in South America is supported by a high standard of quality that has been achieved as a result of ongoing investments in various areas of textile manufacturing. In addition to fabrics, the company produces staple polyester yarns, nylon and acetate filament yarns, as well as Taslan and fiberglass yarns. In order to lay the foundation for the high level of quality, for which this company is well known, the Sudamtex Group cultivates its own cotton with an annual yield in excess of 3000 tons. Close cooperation with E. I. Dupont de Nemours and PPG Industries further contributes to the company remaining in the forefront of technological development. Since 1974 this completely vertically integrated company has been quoted on the stock market in Caracas and Maracaibo.
