DORNIER's Electronic Parts Ordering System EPOS – an electronic spare parts catalog – makes an important contribution toward reducing downtime. The enduser receives documentation perfectly coordinated with each type of machine in the weaveroom and updated each time a change occurs. The system uses MS Windows and does not require special PC knowledge to operate.

Together with modern means of communication, Internet, E-mail, modem, EDI and online communication via WAN (Wide Area Network), orders can be placed today independently of the time of day or time zone. As a result, we offer every customer the option of individual communication with DORNIER.

A number of our representatives around the world are already connected with our EDP System. This enables customers, who may have difficulty with customs formalities or language, to quickly and easily order spare parts in their own language from our representative.

The fact that the new means of communication are already being used by customers all over the world is very well illustrated with an example of a customer in New Zealand. This customer writes, "The parts that we ordered over the Internet have already been received. In the past when we used the normal mailing system it took 4 – 5 weeks until we received the parts. Ordering spare parts directly from DORNIER over the Internet is now the method we prefer. We hope to be able to continue this way in order to take full advantage of your excellent service".
