Lindauer DORNIER has included a new developed microwave system for conveyer dryers to its range of products.
With this system, the microwaves are lead to the conveyer dryer along rod antennas instead of through horn antennas or slotted wave guides. These antennas are positioned above the product to be dried, crosswise to the direction of production and throughout the total width of the conveyer belt.By changing the height of the antennas, the position of the microwaves can be focused on the centre of the product in order to optimise the drying efficiency.
Trials which were carried out with the new system showed that a constant distribution of the microwaves on the product to be dried is guaranteed as well in case of a large width of the conveyer belt.
Both the capacity of the microwaves and the speed of the conveyer belt are infinitely variable.
The use of this system is intended for single and multi deck conveyer dryers in combination with customary drying systems or for stand-alone solutions.
This system is also designed to retrofit existing conveyer dryers.A pilot plant with a belt width of 2000 mm and a microwave capacity of 30 kW is available for customer tests.
