DORNIER take-up systems
The DORNIER take-up systems are very rigid and solid machines in order to avoid any vibrations. The first roll on a DORNIER take-up system is a measuring roll, where the tension of the film to the TDO will be controlled. From this roll the speed of all other rolls will be adjusted. All rolls of a DORNIER take-up/transfer section are independently driven and the drive can be executed by torque motors or by asynchronous motors. The take-up systems for PP, PA and polyester film are equipped with one or more corona treatment stations. DORNIER supplies corona treatment equipment of Messrs Softal in Germany. Flame treatment for BOPP film is also available. The nip rolls, which are necessary in front of the corona rolls as well as at the inlet and exit of the take-up system to define tensions, are rubber coated and independently driven. The second thickness gauge is installed in the take-up section and cutting of the edges of film at both sides takes place, too. The second and third roll normally are water-cooled, however, also the rolls arranged behind of a corona system can be chilled by water. The diameter of the rolls varies depending on width. DORNIER supplied take-up systems for a final trimmed film width up to 8700 mm. DORNIER take-up systems are available for manual threading with safety fence or with an automatic belt or chain guiding system.
